What's for dinner.....

What's for dinner? Who else hates this question? How prepared and organized do we need to be these day's to get a good, some what healthy meal on the table and have everyone sitting and enjoying it together?? Rule in our house since the girls were very young, was we always eat together! Now that the girls are adults we still eat together most nights, but the weekends are alittle harder with everyone's busy social lives. We are pretty fortunate to have jobs where we are both home by 1:00 in the afternoon, so have lots of time to prep, and make our meals every night, not much take out happening here, can't say it would be the same way if we were 9-5er's. We love to eat and we enjoying prepping and trying new recipes...the girls not so much, new recipes are usually tried when they are not around :) Today we were off so I prepared a big batch of spaghetti sauce that we will freeze for future pasta supper nights and Brett is making home made italian bread, yes from scratch! Tonight I will use some of the pasta sauce and we will be having lasagna, which I still need to start prepping. I make my own pasta sauce and always have ever since my dear friend Paul show me years, and years ago. And what is pasta without some vino...love love my wine, some may call me a wine snob but I like to think that I have an acquired taste for what wines I like and don't like. That being said I do go vintage always...umm maybe I am a wine snob. I always have a glass of wine while I am prepping my lasgana and tonight's wine is a 2007 Californian Cabernet Sauvignon, Glass Mountain was just out on vintage release and for $14.95 a bottle is a wine we have enjoyed for a few years now and always stock up when it's on release. When we sit down tonight as a family, turn on some jazz musical (always have supper music, anyone who has been here for dinner learns this quickly and they learn no cell phones during dinner....that's another rule) enjoy our lasagna and home made bread, we will already be thinking of those dreaded words....what's for dinner tomorrow night! Bon appetit, I know I will ;)
